Please confirm every date on the official website, dge.tn.gov.in, and with your school before you rely on it.
Most posts about the SSLC 2027 time table only list the dates. But a date list does not tell you how much time you really have to study between two papers. In this post we turn the timetable into a plan you can follow: how many free days you get, what to do on them, and how to organise the weeks before March.
What you will learn
- How many free study days you get between each SSLC paper
- A 20-week revision plan from now until the first paper
- What to do on gap days, and what not to do
- A blank table for Plus Two (Class 12) students to fill in
SSLC 2027 dates at a glance

The "free days" column is our own calculation from the reported dates. Recheck it against the official PDF.
What the gaps tell you
The gaps get shorter as the exams go on. You have a full week after the first paper, but only three days between Science and Social Science. This means:
- Do not leave Science and Social Science for the gap days. Finish at least one full revision of both before 17 March.
- Mathematics needs practice, not reading. With 4 free days before Science, you cannot learn Maths from scratch, but you can keep your sums fresh.
- The early gaps are your best chance to go deep on the subjects that come later.
A 20-week revision plan
From the end of October 2026 to the first paper on 17 March 2027 is about 20 weeks. Your school's half-yearly exam falls in December. Check your school's timetable for the exact dates.
| Period | Focus |
|---|---|
| Now to half-yearly exam | Finish the portions your school gives for the half-yearly. Keep a notebook of mistakes (see below). |
| After half-yearly to end of January | First full revision of every subject, starting with Science, Social Science and Maths. |
| 1 February to practicals (19–26 February) | Practical record, diagrams and experiments. Keep light revision of theory going each day. |
| 27 February to 16 March | Full-length practice papers in exam time. Correct them and revise weak topics. |
| 17 March to 12 April | Gap-day routine (next section). |
Keep a mistake notebook
Every time you lose marks in a class test, quarterly or half-yearly paper, write down three things: the question, why you lost marks, and the correct method. Before the public exam, reading this notebook is more useful than reading the whole textbook again, because it contains only your own weak points.
What to do on a gap day
- Morning: Revise the next paper's hardest topics (about 2 to 3 hours).
- Midday: Solve one practice question set or past paper section under time.
- Evening: Read your mistake notebook and formulas or key points.
- Night: Sleep on time. Do not start a new chapter the night before an exam.
Common mistakes students make
- Using the gap days only to relax, then panicking on the night before the paper.
- Starting new chapters in the last week instead of repeating the ones they know.
- Reading answers without writing them. For Science and Social Science, writing practice matters.
- Ignoring the last paper. Optional Language is the final paper, and it also needs preparation.
For Plus Two (Class 12) students
The reported Class 12 theory exams run from 3 March 2027 to 29 March 2027, with practicals reported for 8 to 18 February 2027. Results are tentatively reported for 7 May 2027. The subject-wise dates differ by group, so we are not guessing them here. Open the official timetable PDF and fill in your own subjects below. Then count the free days, exactly as we did for Class 10.
